Visit to Pizzeria Bianco

Last night we went to Pizzeria Bianco to try some of Chris Bianco’s famous pies. Before being seated, we enjoyed some happy hour cocktails next door at Bar Bianco (gin lime ricky with fresh lime juice).

We started with two salads – mixed greens and tomatoes and house-made mozzarella. (oddly, the daily special market salad was already 86 at 5:30pm).  The greens were fresh and crisp and the mozzarella was delicious.  The local tomatoes were not of the same quality.  Next on the pizzas. We ordered a Marinara (tomato sauce, oregano, garlic), a Rosa (red onion, Parmigiano Reggiano, rosemary, Arizona pistachios) and a Wiseguy (wood roasted onion, house smoked mozzarella, fennel sausage).  Unfortunately they split the Marinara with a Margherita (tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil) and the Rosa with a Biancoverde (fresh mozzarella, parmigiano reggiano, ricotta, arugula).  Despite the mix up, the pizzas were delicious. Perfectly cooked, in my opinion., with the right amount of char. The ambiance was really nice too, perhaps the near perfect weather and an outdoor table added to it. A good time was had by all.
